    Berkeley has 135 paths, steps, and walkways. Paths are maintained by the City’s Department of Public Works and Department of Parks & Recreation. BPWA, a volunteer group of community members, assists by surveying and mapping the paths; scouting out needs for signage and repairs; organizing work groups to maintain and improve paths; and seeking funds for restoring paths and building new ones.     Explore an authentically restored aircraft carrier, from Captain’s Bridge to Engine Room! A national Historical Landmark, this ship participated in WWII and the Apollo 11/12 moon missions.
