The food and drinks in Japan are so delicious and exciting, but our best Japanese dining experience was not in the fancy sushi or kaiseki restaurants -- It was in the small alleys called Yokocho.
Yokocho, the narrow streets in Japan major cities are packed with many home-style mom & pop eateries tucked away in buildings and busy streets. Yokocho alleys are popular to locals, and are so due to the affordable and delicious food and drinks, and most important of all, the great local hospitality and atmosphere! It feels like a home away from home.
We want to bring the real food, authentic local taste of Japan, and for the chance to say kanpai! with our guests. This is why Alley Kitchens was born.
